Barabas (IMP)

He was quietly laid to rest at Valinor Park on 13th March 2013.

Owned by Valinor Park, Barabas (imp) was bred by Robbie Den Hartog in the Netherlands. He came to Valinor Park since 2002, with his first foals born in 2004.

Barabas (imp) stood 15.2hh and he was a straight Russian bred stallion. His pedigree boasts some of the very best of Russian bloodlines in recent years.

Much sought after for his endurance progeny, Barabas (imp) had a number of his offspring competing successfully both here in Australia and overseas.

His progeny have also proved highly successful in the show ring, having sired numerous East Coast Champions at Halter, Australian Champions at Halter, AAA Halter Champions as well as Top 10 Australian Champions.

Barabas himself was a Top 10 Australian Ch. Stallion, with numerous Halter accolades under his belt.

In 2007, a Barabas son, Baranski, was the 2007 Australian Champion Stallion at Halter. Baranski was bred by Marion and Tom Sharman, and shown by Richard Sharman. He is an outstanding Ambassador for his sire.

Barabas was also the sire of Serjai (VP) who won the junior world championships in endurance in Hungary in 2009. He has a number of successful endurance horses competing in the middle east and his progeny are highly sort after, not only for their outstanding recovery rates but also for their soundness and courage.
