About & History

Founded in 1979 with the motto ‘BEAUTY THAT ENDURES’,

the stud has always put a premium on ‘form to function’, and whilst bloodlines from overseas have been introduced over the years, the stud has never been a ‘follower of fashion’ in breeding to the latest Halter icon, unless it was felt that a particular bloodline could enhance the attributes the stud valued – Arabian type, correct conformation and movement, athleticism and good temperaments.

The original stallion, Oasis Desert Song, was predominantly Crabbet bred, and his 3 foundation mares were a combination of Crabbet, Egyptian and Spanish bloodlines – chosen specifically to correct faults and enhance the positive attributes already in these horses.

Over the years other bloodlines have been added, with the predominantly Polish, (but with a confluence of Egyptian and Russian blood), stallion Saracin UK, the Russian/Polish stallion, Adras GB, and the straight Russian stallion Barabas NL

As the stud moves into its 5th decade, horses bred since 1979 carry in their ancestry many of the giants of the Arabian breed, again chosen because they could contribute to the type of Arabian that epitomises the Valinor Park prefix.

Internationally horses carrying the Valinor Park prefix and progeny of their stallions have achieved at the highest levels of Halter success and in the Endurance world. Valinor Park horses have represented Australia, the UK and Canada in Endurance. They have won at WEG, and been multiple winners in the ME and Europe in endurance, as well as winning at halter in the UK and France.

In Australia, they have achieved numerous Australian Championships at both Halter and Dressage, together with Championship awards at all the major East Coast shows, as well as winning and placing in FEI ** and *** endurance rides and winning AERA rides.
